Surely there are a few big pharma interested in buying arna. This novel drug is too big of a deal to let slip through their hands. When and how much will it be?
Sentiment: Strong Buy
While I agreed with you in the beginning, every time we set up a partnership we diminish the value or the probability of a buyout, in my opinion (one of the reasons for my famous rant after the Taiwan partnership announcement). Because we have additional barriers in place that will work against such a buyout.. I read on here the other day that signing these little deals is putting pressure on BP to get in before the market is to segmented and a buyout would be hard to complete. Only time will tell and truthfully I would love to go it alone and build a brand name big pharma. A few really big markets left and lots of little markets.
A buyout now would not be good for shareholders. Most buyouts are in the 40% to 50% range which is on $12 at today's PPS. That would be way too low and if management settles for anything less than $25/share, there will be ambulance chasing law firms looking to prove negligence of the management team on behalf of the shareholders. We need a few quarters of solid growth, more clarity as to how the AMA decision will affect ARNA treatments, a few good upgrades, insurance coverage and a leak about a possible bidding war. This is still a 12 month to 18 month process in my mind. Accumulate if you can and be patient.
Just remember these words "As you can imagine we have multiple companies interested" says jack
Then there was this just last week "We will maximize shareholder value" says Craig
Then there was this and it's probably more true now then ever. Goolge: Arena becomes dealbait
