While I wish this were true, I read the article and that was not the jist of it t all. What the article said was that the new healthcare law allows companies to force employees with big waistlines and that smoke to pay higher percentage premiums than those that do not.
My friends company gave her a discount for being a certain BMI,quitting smoking, tryglycerides within a certain range. This was an incentive to pay more of her insurance premium. This will get people thinking as they will pay more for bad behavior and pay less for insurance for good behavior.
