The ADT Corporation Message Board

Wow! I get the 1st ADT Yahoo Post.......perhaps a trivia question some day (sniffle).

considering shifting $s from PNR to ADT given their relative performance since the split. Any thoughts as to weather good move (PNR richly valued, ADT now a value play) or bad move (PNR will continue upward momentum, and ADT was too richly piced at spin off). Thx in advance....and to our new board!

    • I am in ADT for the future. I think they will be bought out by AT&T or Honeywell, but that is just my opinion and not reason enough to put money in it. Like they say, if you put your money down you take your chances of whether it will be a winner for you or not. GOOD Luck !

      Sentiment: Buy

      • I agree with you and think that they will be bought by someone. I think AT&T is more likely than Honeywell, since ADT is a large customer of Honeywell's and it would create a challenge for Honeywell with their other customers and their practice of squeezing their suppliers for every last penny of cost reduction. The best thing for ADT shareholders would be to have AT&T compete with another large player to acquire. I am in ADT for the future and believe that they will be sold at a premium.

      • Thanks Johnny. This board oficially now has life! By most metrics, PNR is still 'cheaper' than ADT. but their relative strength over the past few months is either a good opportunity to switch into ADT (ie. 'cash out' of PNR), or there's a reason why PNR has increased 30% compared to ADT's 10%....and fight the temptation to think I'm smarter than the mkt. Again, thx for the quick reply. Hopefully we've got a couple of months to actually focus discussion on ADT before this board, too, is corrupted and misused like oh, so many others.
