Prior to becoming the scientific director at OTRADI, Allen led assay development, compound screening, and optimization efforts at SIGA Technologies for seven years.
Allen has collaborated and participated in business-development activities with academic, government and industry partners, resulting in the publication and creation of intellectual property across a range of scientific disciplines.
He has served as a principal investigator on National Institutes of Health and National Science (NIH) grants and Department of Defense contracts, and regularly participates as a reviewer on NIH study section panels.
Allen received his Ph.D. in microbiology from Columbia University and his master’s degree in applied biology from Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Rhodes College, and was awarded postdoctoral fellowships at Washington University in St. Louis and Emory University.
