    Demoncrats & Socialist thinking

Well if you're sniveling because you're short of funds before the next payday, it's either due to your over spending or theirs. You decide, you know your paycheck best. Do you look at it? Do you look at your bills to see how much goes to tax?? Add it up after reading this list. I mean physically add it up, spend an extra hour come bill time and separate all the taxes out of your bills and pay stubs- get a grip on where your money is going. Businesses do. It is why business owners are predominantly Republican. You would be too if you physically wrote the checks for your IRS and SS payments vs. having it "deducted". Those checks hurt when you write them vs. blindly recieving a deducted check.

After doing this little exercise- look around you to see who's recieving "your" paycheck. Those of you who believe it's the workers against the employers will soon realize it's all of us against the politicians. We, the taxpayers, are the largest special interest out here, but we're divided by smaller special interests who claim to be "for us" in our little groups. Like a union or an Enviro group or a racially biased group. They've decieved us into thinking they're looking out for us, when in reality, they are looking out for themselves.

It's time to look after yourself. No more jobs offshore, no more illegal immigration, no more taxes, no more reliance on foreign oil-we've got plenty as well as good technology to convert especially no more cr*p from lame politicians.

Here is something that will really make your day.

    What do you think changed?

Demoncrats. Socialist thinking. We're half way to communism.

Only the rich will be rich and the middle class will become poor. We're the proverbial frog in the pan. Don't let them kill your freedom slowly! Get rid of all Cal. Democrats who proceed to support taxation.

We've got their attention- make 'em sweat! They work for you!

    • He is the poster child for Corporate Greed and in the current environment, he had to go.

    • P State 8888888888888

The word on the tube is that the board is next on the hit list. The SEC isn't too happy about this mess.

    • I just heard on the radio that Grasso might get an additional $50,000,000 since he was technically fired.

And this little prick is supposed to be watching out for the small investor!

      Hang the bastard!

    • But the point is that I haven't read anywhere that Grasso was doing a bad job. I have read the opposite, that when every new listing was going to the NASDAQ he did quite a bit to steady the ship.

The point is that he was paid too much, and his only crime was taking the money that was offered. Why would anyone turn down an offer for that much money? It was a chance for those that had a personal ax to grind to get rid of him with bloodying their hands.

Our situation is only similar in that we have overpaid execs. Ours are making BAD decisions that they AND the BOD should be accountable for. No one expects that to ever happen.

    • Agree, but you have to cut off the head of the snake first.

Think what a great company Vz would be without Babbio and a couple of others.

    • A flat tax only works if it's "flat".
An extimated flat tax of 10% (With no loopholes) will generate much more revenue than
what is being made now. As a matter of fact, the rate could be as low as 5% and still generate more revenue.
Imagine that. if you make a 6 figure sallary, you olny pay 5% and those in the 25K range only pay 5%.
This has been studied in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan for years as a way to pull away from the lower half of the state and become the 51st state.
The key is NO LOOPHOLES for any income level.

    • I'm sure if you or I were offered that kind of money we would take it. It is absolutely ridiculous for him to resign over this!

They paid him too much and now he should resign? C'mon. Why not have the bozos that made the pay package resign instead? Then there would be meaningful change. These changes only affect the face the public sees, the root of the problem still exists.

    • Great guess or was this the only option Grasso had? I beleive that this type of pressure should continue and that ALL C.E.O.'s should follow suit. 140 million does seem quit extreme. Is Seidenberg, Babbio, Barr and the rest of the good ol' boy next? KEEP THE $$$$$ WHERE IT BELONGS TO THE LARGE AND SMALL TIME INVESTORS. They are the ones taking the gamble. The last thing that VZ needs is another Bernie Ebbers or Scott Sullivan. What's next? Could it be the multi-million dollar mansions in Fla.? WAKE UP SHARE HOLDERS BEFORE YOU HAVE ANOTHER WCOEQ ON YOUR HANDS. PRESSURE THOSE ON THE BD. OF DIRECTORS before it's to late.

    • Agreed. In addition, some studies indicate that by the time one factors in ALL taxes, the rates paid across all economic strata are much flatter than one would assume if one looks strictly at income taxes.

    • <poor people use public assistance paid for by taxes>

      So do corporations and agribusinesses.
