    Verizon Customers ALERT

    I have Verizon for internet FIOS TV and my land lines. I am very pleased generally. HOWEVER, something happened today of which all VZ customers should be aware. I got a very polite automated phone call that sounded EXACTLY like the voice verizon uses for notifications. It said my most recent payment was not credited because my credit card was refused. "Would you like to correct this by using a different credit card?" I don't even PAY with a credit card, but it was so convincing, so polite, I thought.... well, maybe my payment account is overdrawn or I forgot to pay it and they are just giving me the wrong message. If I DID pay this account with a credit card arrangement --- I just got new cards this month --- I think I might have whipped out the new card and given to these theives. I know better, but I was busy, I was paying bills, I had the cards out in front of me..... I KNOW my Mom would have "paid it". She would have been so worried about her credit being sullied she would have done what they wanted in a flash. If you have any people in the family that might be fooled, TELL THEM. NEVER EVER give a credit card to an inbound caller. Have a good day.
