Microsoft won't be putting Blu-Ray players in the Xbox 360 (which plays only HD-DVD, which lost the format war).
That will EOL the Xbox far sooner than anyone planned. And with it, AMD's revenue stream from Microsoft.
Pumpertards will bleat that AMD will surely get the design-win on the next Microsoft console. They will ignore that Microsoft has taken such a bath on the Xbox that there is a very high likelihood that there will be no next Microsoft console. They also ignore that nVidia is cleaning AMD's clock in all areas of graphics processing, and Microsoft would be an absolute idiot to choose the Old and Busted chip over the New Hotness.
AMD is done in gaming consoles. Write it off now, Hector.
did you know that Nintendo Wii also uses Ati graphic card and its the hottest selling system?? lol...you morons try to find everything against AMD and it wont work! Nintendo doesnt have a blu ray and its selling just fine.
But engineers at AMD demonstrate they are far more capable handling blue ray than Intel. Would like to see how Intel and bashers like you respond to this.
"AMD demonstrate they are far more capable handling blue ray than Intel."
AMD has just introduced something new and to show you haw good it is, they compares it to something Intel introduced a year ago. Intel will introduce it's new G45 chipset next month and you will have to find something else to post about.
Hi, just because you work at AMD does not give you the right to come here and put links to YouTube content to embarrass your company.
AMD engineers didn't do anything. I think you need to give credit to the ATI engineers who are now at AMD. AMD has not done a very good job integrating the ATI and AMD cultures.
Sorry Blair, now that's fud.
XBOX 360 doesn't play HD-DVD. There was the possibility to buy an external HD-DVD player which is gone. SO HD-DVD was just an accessorie but never part of the core system. So blue ray win in the format war won't affect XBOX360.
"AMD is done in gaming consoles. Write it off now, Hector."
This is fud. Looks like the bear case is becoming more and more difficult to defend thus one has to start made up stories.
If you really want to bash AMD then you should look at the USDEUR exchange rate and remind yourself that all AMD CPU are produced in EUR land. Now that's painfull.
Blue Ray win over HD DVD? Nah, there's no pain for AMD in there...
AMD wins with their native quad core and integrated graphics design. Something Intel has no answer for. Gamers will want AMD's AM3 motherboard with ddr3, native quad core, 780g, and dual 3870x2's for way less than any Intel/Nvidia combo that performs like crap.
