Warnings are #$%$ Everybody knows many people are waiting for Windows 8. I think 4th quarter looks attractive.
You guys should learn the history about everytime there is a new Windows OS come out and what the affect will be for the new PC buyers and builders. I don't know about you guys but I am buying more from here.
Well I'll be getting Windows 8 but I will only pay MS $39.99 and use it to update a Dell Vostro 1500 that has an Intel Core2-Duo and Nvidia graphics from Windows XP.
I see so need to purchase from a company that might not be in business in a few years and the Nexus 7's that my wife an I purchased recently met our need for personal portable computing (something AMD has no products to address).
Warren East issued a warning September 4th."We are entering a period of uncertainty, and it is a period of concern". It seems it is a little more than Windows 8 although Windows 8 probably has an effect. But a slow down will put AMD in a precarious position as a result of prospect of incurring losses. Have to see what Q3 turns up?
Have you tried Windows 8 Consumer Preview? The 'Metro' interface is totally lame. Where's the Control Panel? Where's the Shutdown icon? Metro will be the dealbreaker for Windows 8 PC's. Windows 8 will crash and burn just like Windows Vista. I plan to start a business downgrading Windows 8 PC's to Windows 7.
When Windows 98 out, they said Windows 95 better. When Windows ME out, they said Windows 98 better. When Windows XP out, they said Windows 2000 better. When Windows Vista out, they want to switch back to Windows XP. Now, we are talking about Windows 8 and you want to switch back to Windwos 7. I hear this kind of #$%$ again and again.
