There is absolutely not one thing whatsoever that one executive employee can possibly DO worth $3000/hr!
Make a list of possible duties/activities. Not even the highest paid pro hoikers get that much - $24,000/day.
As usual, limp-wristed AMD falls for sucker bait again. Actually, it's more like blackmail. In order to hire a very competent person who might be indeed "worth" about $600,000, AMD is forced to pay 10X to compensate the person for the embarrassment of taking the job.
Let's think of a compensation package that actually MIGHT be worth millions. A super salesman who closes a deal for billions of dollars of new business, surely can be generously rewarded. An inventor who lands a vastly superior chip technology worth billions in sales, can certainly be handsomely rewarded. But an executive paper pusher does not appear to have any such worth. One could hire 60 competent people to replace that one person.
AMD is a shmuck. It's extremely embarrassing to all stockholders.
She is an MIT PHD and got herself on the Board of Directors at Analog Devices, Inc which sets compensation as a Senior VP & General Manager. Not sure Ive seen GM's on boards before very interesting.
Dr. Su was previously employed as SVP & General Manager-Networking & Multimedia by Freescale Semiconductor, Inc., SVP & General Manager-Networking & Multimedia by Freescale Semiconductor Ltd., VP-Semiconductor Research & Development by International Business Machines Corp., a Member-Technical Staff by Texas Instruments Incorporated, a Principal by Integrated Telecom Express, Inc., and Vice President-Technology Development by Alliancesphere LLC.
Lisa job is to muzzle Rory and jerk his leash when he gets too excited and turns into a fist pumping, mouth gaping, arm waving, PR drooling high school cheerleader.
remember this Rory Rant
Just now, as I was waiting for the conference call to begin, it sounded like there was a “hot” mic in the AMD offices. A male voice came on, talking to a female voice, saying, “I’m doing a quick introduction, slow, methodical [...] My name is Rory, I have no personality any longer, they want me not to have any.” Possibly CEO Rory Read, though it was impossible for me to tell by voice alone.
