I have been involved in the gaming industry for many years, and have been in the IT field for decades. I used to own a hobby shop that carried virtually every game system. This was back in the day when games came on cartridges, and copies and counterfeiting were virtually impossible. The past 10 years video games have been made far less profitable by piracy. AMD has taken the lead by teaming up with the top game producers, and now the profit is being made up front. This is going to be an excellent strategy for AMD selling graphics cards, and a double win for game producers. In fact it is revitalizing the PC gaming sector. Those who predicted the supposed death of the PC are not only mistaken, but have it completely backwards. As always, high-end games can only be fully enjoyed on high end systems. The new console systems are about to energize that sector again, and the new games online features will make piracy pointless. If you look at the size of the video game industry vs. the movie industry, you will see there are billions and billions to be made, and AMD is going to be a major player in this revolution.
How the hell can call a castrated HD 7790 high end, LOL. HD 7790 gets beaten bloody by Nvidia Kepler 650 Ti Boost, and in consoles this castrated console version with only 768 cores and runs 200MHz slower will be Obliterated. By the time consoles are released the retail non-castrated HD 7790 version will be selling for less than $130 bucks. Its a bottom feeding AMD GPU now, in six months it will near obsolete.
