This DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!!!
I am not an impatient investor, but this is the first I have examined a companies position and seen this. Sure I have seen strange turn of events, but generally speaking, stocks climb on positive earnings that beat expectations.
If you examine their balance sheet, RSI, Float, EPS, Last Quarter, the whole 9 Yards, this stock is VERY UNDERVALUED!!! How does ANY company with the Universe on it's side here continue going sideways? I am truly lost on this one.
I could make numerous comparisons here with other tech firms trading at a much higher price and in the toilet financially, but that's another story.
Everyone knows the obvious news PS4's, Xbox One, Wii's are all powered by AMD, and the preorders for the new gaming systems are SOLD OUT COMPLETELY! Production of both these both units are going to be busy for the next few years to come.
Can ANYONE shed some real light on this?
Go read the article under today's headlines on AMD's financial condition. That will tell you all you need to know. $3.33 makes no sense. Based on its financial distress AMD belongs deep in the 2s. Consider yourself lucky to be able to get out in the 3s.
I certainly read up on any and all news updates. I am familiar with the one posted today and there are more than a dozen recent articles that clearly illustrate the opposite.
But that being said, math is absolute. If you do basic technical analysis on AMD, it should be trading in the $5 to $6 dollar range easy...
you are full of a #$%$ bashing amd at this price .please,go and short pcln, goog, amzn, tsla, nflx, isrg, lnkd ctrp, tripz,on and on not here bashing a 3.33 stock beat expectation for the last two quarters and raised revenue guidance for next q.It is ashamed on you to come here in this board and start bashing a stock at this level
where are your facts? AMD went from high $9s to $3s, more recently from above $4s to low $3s, and you still called the people who warned about the free fall as "fools". I think you're the real fool here!
PS: feel free to go through the madeit50 message history, you will see how big of a fool he is. LOL!
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Companies are starting to think of "next quarter" as long term, that makes AMD unattractive because it has to prove a return to profitability and an ability to pay off its debt before the "play it safe" boys on the street buy back in.
Massive debt, non-competitive desk top, laptop, tablet and server CPUs, low margin cheap console toy chips, no mobile GPU or CPU offerings, sold its Mobil GPU IP to Qualcomm, low margin hot running, watt wasting GPUs that are noisy and hugely throttle down when going gets tough, depleting its meager resources by opening another front fighting well ARMed embedded ARMies with very deep pockets, spreading Hate FUD propaganda with their packs of rabid Charlie humping AMDogs just makes investor hate AMD even more so do all the over hyped bogus benchmarks that they spew about. In other words AMD has proven itself to never walk its delusional talk.
I could go on and on, but bad Karma follows AMD like a shadow.
What goes around comes around, its funny how these Charlie humping rabid AMDogs bashed Fermi but are now pumping the hottest nosiest most watt sucking GPUs around, LOL.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
The Semiconductor sector is also moving sideways.
So AMD will also - unless! they report something like they collect their near $900 Million Accounts Receivables and pay Global Foundries early. Then say backlog and guidance for Q4 is better then earlier thought
R9 s290X soldout - we ell see if the s290 fly's off the OEM shelves (Good for budget Crossfire setup - 2 cards).
XB One and PS4 appears in high demand (even the more casual fun entertainment users) with all the new advanced features.
maybe it would move up if it made money consistently. But its so beaten down by poor performance and debt that maybe you should be looking at its survival odds rather than a spike in share price.
I think the entire semiconductor sector is in the downturn of the business cycle. AMD is a high beta stock so that when the entire sector is down, AMD will be down more than others. The opposite is true as well. As long as AMD can ride out the storm and get to the other side of the cycle, its stock will rise a lot.
