OT advice for people building or upgrading a computer: Overall I've found both www.mwave.com and www.allstarshop.com to be the cheapest hardware sights. With Mwave being (very)slightly more expensive but with a more complete inventory. You might find cheaper individual pieces elsewhere (through pricewatch) but these two are hands down the all around cheapest when it comes to buying all the parts for one system. (I also have no relationship with these sights but just want to share some savings)
mail order from US to Canada is too expensive. Plus, I like to be able to walk in, talk to sales staff, and get exactly what i'll need all at once. No waiting for the postman to arrive, either. Just wish I wasn't putting on a Fatboy Slim concert today; I'd run over right now and pick up the goods :)
I've been putting off buying a new computer to replace my ancient creakin' old P2 300 for many months now. At last the time is here. And having AMD way up at $28+ makes the purchase even sweeter.
