the smart ones dumped HVT at 16.58 last week

Note the volume ( 599,000 ) yup, the smart ones unloaded.

Those who bought in at the price are in for a very rude awakening and a very long wait for a return to gains above 16.58.

    • One year gone by, and the recent quarter shows a renewel of the slow sales and profit growth.

The long wait to a return of share price gains above 16.58 continues.

      • The suits in suite 800 just don't get it, but the street valuation of HVT does!

A new agency on board, BUT the problem is the overall merchandising strategy has been far less than than the standard set by the nationwide competition. Just what has the merchanidsing team been doing? Surely no serious probing of design trends that are working for other retailers. To be sure there has been a vast improvement in the upholstery category and bedrooms;dining have been edited to the tailored look that the 21st century trends have been.

But, the childrens, kids, youth, is so far behind what Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel and Restoration Hardware is merchandising. Seriously, WHY don't you do a real sitdown with staff at your key locations. They will tell you, the public loves Pottery Barn, but looks to Haverty's to do the look at a lower price. If you look at best sellers, it is clear that the clean look sells in upholstery, and with a wide selection of fabrics and frames...great.
But when that customer seeks to do a youth bedroom, they just look in vain for a wider selection and leave.

It has been more than just a lost season or two, it's been a few LOST YEARS..just when is Haverty's going to get with the mainstream trends?

Spend some time watching HGTV, and other cable home design channels and weekly series...PLEASE for your sake and that of your selling staff and shareholders!

    • It is now seven months later.

and still more downside left to go for HVT.

    • Yes, the smart ones dumped and saved a further 31% drop in share value.

    • Click on to HVT "insider transactions"

Note the large amount of selling the week of March 18th and of March 25th.

The smart ones continued to dump.

    • For a laugh, review the Justwhois constantly negative posts during the past year, while the stock price doubled.
