Sears sends illegal, unsolicited text messages

Just like Papa John's is being sued for. The certified class action for PJ is seeking $250 mil, or around $250 per unsolicited message.

I purchased Christmas gifts last year at Sears, they asked for my number at checkout, then I recevied texts without opting in.

This past Tuesday I went shopping, and the clerk asked for my phone number for their "loyalty program" and got pretty short with me when I said "no thanks".

Could be trouble depending on how PJ's goes.

    • iknowmain.......There is a huge push for the stores to sign people up. Upper management actually threatens the stores if they don't get sign ups. This gets pushed down to the associates. In some cases, I know of employees going through the phone book in order to get signups.
