the eventual displacment of crus by QCOM with the combination audio codec chip they are thought to have in developement??Possibly even making crus's main product line the audio codec obsolete?Could the market possibly be that tech savy to foresee this?
omg stop it with the nonsense the guidance would be TOTALLY different and on the cc which you didnt listen to the realtionship with AAPL is intact and they are R&D 2 years out for their customers....this is a cycle reset.....and a tremendous buying opportunity for the smart and patient peeps. the sky is NOT falling the only thing that is falling is the share price via fearful people selling that listen to Cramer and CNBC.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
The other possibility is that there has been leaks at QCOM about this chip thought to be in developement.Of course the people working on the chip know the ramifications to company's like crus that basically rely on a single product line that it would replace.
This could very well be the work of inside info cheats at QCOM and their proxies profitting on their non public knowledge .
I think you are dead-on with your speculation. Even if it is not Qcom, it could be another supplier. Audio CODECs, DSPs and amplifiers are definitely not cutting-edge technology.
There is simply no way that a company like AAPL known for its brutal dealing with suppliers would coddle CRUS forever. They simply have to consider alternatives that will keep them lowering their cost, longer-term.
Yes, the relationship is "strong" --- until it's not.
I think the simple reason CRUS stock is getting crushed in the market is that they failed to diversify their sales even in an environment that should have permitted that. Yes it takes time to design and ramp, but we're talking years here - and no other customer is as demanding as AAPL. So it is clear (to me) the market is seeing through the excuses put out by management.
I would like to have mk or one of the other boosters refute this argument convincingly, as they have so far failed to do.
