It looks like two or more tower companies should merge or swap towers to more rational regional portfolios to achieve pricing and cost benefits and scaleability in servicing customers. Would the Bush Justice Dept have anti-trust issues with that? cheers, kash
A good question. The rent paid these companies is hardly a large part of the carriers budgets. It would seem to be quite a ways down the list of industries they would challenge in a combination at DOJ. I don't see any great potential for the public to be damaged. A MUCH greater scrutiny would be given any prospective merger between wireless carriers.
