    Earned 0.34 in 2009 Paying 0.48 Dividend

    Can someone explain this?

    FNB got reamed in 2008.

In 2009 they show earning 0.34 per share for entire year.

Now they are paying a dividend at a rate of 0.48 per year?

If I read their 4Q 2009 right, their non accruals are increasing, their net charge offs are increasing. Not good things. Trend should go other way.

Cramer has said, and it makes sense to avoid companies that pay more dividends than earnings, with exceptions for some tanker companies.

    It makes sense.

Stock doesn't get a large short interest by accident.
