What's your take on the upcoming merger? Good for FNB?
The shareholders must not like the idea - why else would this pig stock be tanking today?I'm glad I don't own any shares.Does anyone have an idea how the TARP $ may (or may not)affect earnings vis-a-vis EBITDA?
Why pay such a premium for Comm Bancorp?
Excellent Q on the premium. I think the loan portfolio will take some time to work through. Bad loans are what can make or break this deal.
FNB is still acquiring. It's a really well run regional.
This is a VERY encouraging sign. Remember: up until the financial crisis, FNB was gobbling up community banks regularly. Iron & Glass, Northside Bank, Omega, and a number of others.Naturally enough that went on hiatus...but as an "out of the woods" signal, I can't think of anything better. Next is a sustainable divvy raise--I would hope by mid-2011.The folks who are gettin' in under ten today will be happy in a few years--even more so if F.N.B. is itself taken over someday...(which I dare to dream...)
