I haven't been throttled. I rent movies like clockwork. I do not ever go to a video rental store; somehow the shelves are always empty of new and recent movies. Why waste the trip and subject my child to seeing all the inappropriate materials. I much prefer the robust selection and search capability of doing it on-line. Netflix's selection is far superior. Further, I can see a preview of some movies using "Watch Now". Netflix wins hands down.
Blockbuster is good for people who want to rent new releases and popular movies that are always in stock.
Netflix is good for people who are film buffs who watch older films that aren't carried by most video stores, or don't need to see a film the nanosecond it is released.
Blockbuster's advantage of having stoes is good for now, but will turn into a liability as video-on-demand comes on line. Netflix has the 'watch now' feature which will grow in popularity, usefulness and selection as video-on-demand appears.
Finally, it's not that hard to run a cable from your computer to your TV so you can watch 'Watch Now' features on your TV. It requres minimal technical competence and a modicum of effort to figure out how to configure it.
