Do people realize how easy it would be to disenfranchise Netflix????
Step 1) Setup a $20 media capture devise.
Step 2) Record any show you watch.
Step 3) Post the video on a non-U.S. based site.
It will take me 5 minutes to find all episodes of "House of Cards" for free tomorrow and there is nothing Netflix can do about it other than try to pursue a legal course of action out of U.S. jurisdiction. Lolz.
Hey now, why the name calling? Also, you missed the point.
I'm talking about thousands of pirate webites, databases and bit torrents where any digital content you want is offered for free. I'm not talking about building a car, I'm talking about thousands of people offering free cars to anyone who wants one. It would be great if Netflix had some tangible assets like automobiles, they are much harder to cut and paste.
My local Comcast server has 25% on-demand recordings missing audio or video at parts, (some recordings mostly are unplayable), some non-Hispanic-culture oriented on-demand recordings only in Spanish, and many episodes and channels missing.
All for $200+ a month. It's a joke.
It's still much less effort than what you suggest, so Netflix is not going to go broke because of that.
