    Short interest still under 1%....

The shorts didn't move back in XRTX, a good sign the stock will just drift until good news comes down the pipe. If you like to invest long, 8.60 might be a good share adding opportunity if it drifts that low.

So what have I learned today, n16 is in the less than 1% investor category and the only one in the world who thinks XRTX is a good short at these levels. He needs to visit the "sage of the south" and seek wisdom for his 5 number, its just not working for him!

    Yank makes me laugh!

    • I initiated a short position today at $9.22. I am actually not down on the company, I just think we will see a relatively steep drop-off if guidance falls in line with the recent Q revenue reduction. Stretch that weakness out over another Q and it will drop. However I will have the finger on the trigger to cover if it tests $8

    • Tend to agree with your 8.60ish target though I added some this AM anyway. With the added book value in the last year, hi 8's/lo 9's corresponds pretty closely with 2011 lows of mid-upper 7's.

Didn't have or had just started a small dividend last year this time, now we have a 3.3% div. Last year the share price began recovering well before the HDD floods. Also back then HDD equip was struggling, not unlike today, and storage biz was taking a lot of flack with Netapp biz dropping. Maybe comparably today, there are execution issues. Getting these resolved and delivering those suspended orders will add a lot of cash to the books. I think this is just a matter of time as they seem to really be building out their software and optical interconnect solutions very competently and with a lot of really impressive new cloud partners. Optical cloud solutions really looks to potentially be a cloud gamechanger. But the some of their immediate QA stuff may have more to do with their Clusterstor. There too though they really seem to be right there at the front of the pack. XRTX/Peter B yest announced open source Lustre test software(Xperior?).

    • Well the flood did help last year, but who knows, maybe they should spin off the HD business and stick to the higher margin cloud storage business that is growing. I'm curious how well the HP PC will sell, and if Windows 8 generates good replacement HD orders. I'm also curious if XRTX is doing business with their UK acquisition of Autonomy? If anybody here knows?
