hi I think the company is changing. Looks like in plans to own more of its TA properties rather than rent from HPT. Right now it is still perceived as a cash cow for HPT but as it buys and owns more property and EPS grows, I think investor sentiment will change. Read the annual report and make your own decisions about the future for TA.
good points. I think one should not buy & hold this stock, and rather trade it. To our friend who wrote that he has been holding TA for 3 years, and is disappointed at the share price performance, here is my 2 cents: Buy some shares at these low levels (below $5) depending on your stamina & treat it as the trading shares, and sell them when the price goes over $5 (which I think will do in less than 2 months). This way, you keep your core (the shares that you have been holding for 3 years) but also take advantage of the price gyrations. You will practically bring down your original purchase price. Please do your own due diligence as this is just my personal opinion, and that's what I have been doing with TA, and I am very happy with the results.
