I provide contract services to a non-PZN owned facility managed by CCA. There has been facility-wide debate for six months as to whether or not the OPCO will be dissolved. Many employees have actively begun searching for other jobs because the rumor persists that CCA will no longer manage facilities they do not own.
This issue was glossed over during the annual Wardens' Conference, but I know several Wardens who are looking for new positions. I have a hard time imagining CCA/PZN would give up facilities that make pretty impressive profits, even though they don't own them: but I do understand that a managed/non-owned facility does not meet the definition required by a REIT. Have any of you heard something? I enjoy the exchanges on this board: very intellligent, active posters.
