While the short term bungles have certainly whacked the stock price, I didn't buy PZN as a short term holding. I bought it as a very long term (i.e. years) investment, as the burgeoning demand for private sector-financed prison space lifts the fortunes of prison REITs. Governments cannot afford to fund the capital cost of building new prisons, and will eventually turn to prison REITs to build their new facilities (whether they turn to prison prison management too I is something I don't care to invest in - too controversial and risky). I would hazard a guess that we've just about seen the last of the big mistakes PZN will make, and provided Wall St. can look past them to the future, we're on our way.
