Anyone who is spooked by the $100M shelf should stay far away from investing. It's like putting money away in case you need to access it over and above your normal expenditures. The shelf was not filed because of financial distress or because INSM is in trouble. It is very sensible insurance against unforseen circumstances. What if the results of both trials immediately lead to further exploration of other indications? What if the FDA, like the NIH, want a trial done for another pulmonary indication? There are a lot of positive reasons to have immediate access to funds. Sit back, relax, and don't get caught up in any panic by the morons on Tuesday.
You are right about that. However, still disappointing. In my universe a PR was also necessary, explaining why the filing for the $100M. The timing is perfect before the announcement of the new Russel Index, long weekend, just before the CF results. There is no reason to panic, I see a huge opportunity to go higher as oppose to lower in 3 weeks time. But a responsible CEO explains why the filing took place!
