Frankly, I don't mind people shorting, at all. I actually like the fact that when they can push a stock down, it provides a 'discount' that 'would-be longs' are looking for. Once it gets to an enticing buy point, the shorts can leave (take their money and go buy a lobster dinner)...and then the 'new longs' can take over, and they'll get their rewards later...win-win, for some.
So yeah, I love oversold / overbashed / overshorted stocks...and when they get to good valuation levels, that's a good thing ! (if you have cash).
And I'll say it again...longs get 9% divys / yr to wait...and the shorts (from here) , if they expect to hold for a year, start out in a 9% hole, needing a 10% drop, to get into the green...That's a really really lousy risk/reward bet...But that just my take...The meat was eaten from the bones already...time to go get that lobster dinner, and reward yourselves....and retire the position.
