Upgraded today, and Cramer said its a great company. Schwab rates it a "D", not that that really matters. But what is so compelling about it? Why was it upgraded, why should I buy it? Can they even afford to maintain their dividend? They don't have SO much cash, and they are way above book.
I read it, and it sounds like a conservative investment for a REIT. But it goes up and down with all the REITs, and to me NLY seems like a much better play. Much better earnings and a much better dividend, and now that REITs may be on the upswing as it looks like long term interest rates are not going up too soon, Ventas seems like higher risk with lower reward.
