So we have a market cap of BH of only $536M, supported by $310.5 M in CBRL and UNAM stock. Yahoo finance says there is $228 per share in cash for each BH share? So the 419 company owned Steak N Shakes and Western Siz must be on sale today ? Oh wait, another 171 franchised locations sending cash upstreamt to San Antonio. It's headline quarterly reports like these that provide the best opportunities to buy. And maybe the hunter is about to become the hunted ? (smirk)
well its kind of complicated. The company has assets including cash and stocks of 775 million- they have debt of 375 million - thus they have net worth of 400 million. However, of the 775 million in assets 300 million of that is in Cracker cbrl stock. That stock is trading at 4 times book value- thus a large piece of BH book value is actually at 4 times book value-
The post is factual. 20% of Cracker Barrel, 9.5% of UNAM, the number of company owned locations is 419, and the number of franchisees is 171. I guess the real estate along interstates for 419 unit is worthless based on Wall Streets BH price today ? LOL As for the cash per share, enlighten us, sparky? It doesn't even have to be a huge number to make BH worth a look.
