better yet short united, buy humana: my strategy and I am sticking with it
My reason: United treats its physicians and patients with no respect
this strategy may bring in profits in the short term, but long term... they are doomed!
As a provider for UNH I have no problems. I know right away the patient's benefits, deductible and co-payments and authorization number, if needed. I file the claim on line and get 24 hr. online deposit in my account. My patients have not complained about UNH and like their choices of MDs.
Thank you Mr Hemsley.. This company ahs so many class actions and claims they paid on lawsuits for abusing patients that you can't count them anymore. Give me a break. My company made the mistake to switch to them last year for 1500 employees and they tried to raise premiums by 38%!!!!!. We dropped them into the garbage that they are and went with GIGNA
Humana is much more dependent on Medicare business for its income than UNH so if Obama cuts any more from Medicare, Humana will be hurt more. Another thing is UNH's service or lack of it has been this way for years, and it hasn't hurt its growth or share price. And the wave of the future is declining customer service, just like in many industries, especially if we start doing some real health care reforms, not just the fakeouts from Obama, such as tort reforms to cut waste from frivolous law suits that has a snow ball effect on health costs.
