NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1999--Cache, Inc., (NASDAQ:CACH - news), a specialty chain of exclusive women's apparel stores with 189 stores open (177 Cache stores and 12 Lillie Rubin stores), reported April 1999 sales figures.
Comparable store sales (sales for stores open at least one year or more) increased 3% during the four week April 1999 period, as compared to the same period in 1998. Total sales for the four week period ended May 1, 1999 increased $1.3 million or 9% to $15.2 million from $13.9 million, for the four week comparable period ended May 2, 1998.
Total sales for the seventeen week period ended May 1, 1999 were $51.7 million, as compared to $45.8 million for the comparable seventeen week period ended May 2, 1998, which represents an increase of $5.9 million or 13%. Comparable same store sales increased 5% during the seventeen week period, as compared to the same period in 1998.
Andrew Saul, Cache's Chairman, commented; ``The comparable store sales increase of 3% in April may have been limited by two factors; first, comparable store sales increased 13% in the prior year period and secondly, the shift of the Easter Holiday into the March 1999 period, as compared to April 1998.

SFI Partnering with Consonus, Inc., of Portland Oregon, will develop the site utilizing the latest technology. Some of the features consumers will experience include 3d imaging, fabric and detail zoom-in imaging, fashion advice, personalized shopping and events calendar, virtual catalog downloads, one click navigation, along with some other surprises.
