A year ago this thing looked good... I bought hoping for distribution increases and capital gains... now I am getting neither. What a POS... why is this happening to us?
I can understand your frustration if you bought ETP at 54.50. It was the greed factor thinking that you can ride the wave of gain.
Look at the chart. It was at the resistance level, with a round top formation. MCAD and Stochastic indicators were screaming overbought, sell, sell, sell!
And if you got in at this level, it was nobody's fault, not the management's fault, but your own.
Have you heard of using stop-loss to protect your trading?
Please be humble and learn from others who make sensible postings, and not personal attack!
You cannot be talking to me... I have owned ETP units for about 7 years. I am sitting on a significant gain - even at this low level.
I see your sentiment is *Strong Buy*. After years of under-performance, what, exactly, is your investment thesis for ETP?
Most Humbly and Sensibly Yours,
As a SUN holder I feel robbed. At this point SUN would be higher on it's own. Now it's linked to this turd that can't go up for any reason. I don't want 50% of my SUN in ETP. Cash me out at $50 and I'm gone. I don't care about dividends. It's not enough.
Thanks for that... The cost over-runs sound like a plausible reason for under-performance relative to peers.
Based on what you know, are they putting new money into the right places? Could bad reaction to their expansion strategy be another reason for under-performance?
Does WS care about the propane business, or is that just a side-show?
Investors tossed EPD over board during the financial crisis in 2008. EPD was yielding 10% at one point while NGLS was yielding over 30%. Anyone who bought MLPs in the Fall of 2008 and held them since then has made a ton of money. I made $250K in L/T capital gains from EPD and OKS, cashed in the gain and kept my original investment in both names. If you think MLPs are going to the bottom of the ocean then please *sell* because there are willing buyers waiting to scoop up your units. I am patiently waiting for some of you to begin panic selling.
"I bought hoping for distribution increases and capital gains... now I am getting neither. What a POS... why is this happening to us? "
It's not happening to us. "Us" is being given an opportunity to buy more or reinvest dividends at a better price. You are being given the opportunity to throw a tantrum because things didn't work out as you hoped NOW.
In fact easily frightened and frustrated "investors" like you augment the market volatility and leave puddles on the floor.
In future you could save commissions by just standing on a corner handing out cash to random passers-by while whining incessantly.

Who do you think you are? You do not know the first thing about me or my investments.
Apparently you have been holding the same bag as me, except your own brains are inside, and you call that *an opportunity*. You must be another po boy, getting rich watching your stocks go down.
i think you might find that they price will after ex distribution after first dropping by the dividend amount, because it seems to me they need another secondary. how or why this happens is not always clear, but the company and underwriters would want a higher price before ipo so you might see some heavier than normal buying activity. im surprised it rose to this level in this environment. so, we might see 48.50 tomorrow, but that is rich. it hit 48.30 or so. it will happen in the first few minutes of trading unless debt deal derailed.
