I made a tone off this stock and getting out! Propane SUCKS! Green is on the move and I believe this unregularted resource is on the way down. Pellet stoves have been sold out to the max on remote location for people who can not get natural gas. Electric cost $2.40 vs probanes recent 2.99. That is sad for propane.
You obviously do not live in CA. Electricity is very expensive here (thanks greenie weenies!). I use a wood stove to get some of the main floor rooms warmed up from Sat morning through Sun evening. The rest of the time it's propane. Fill 500 gallon tank in August, then prebuy 300 gallons, and refill in Feb. The Feb fill uses up the prebuy and maybe a few gallons more. 3 furnaces, water heater, and range. APU has been good to me for over 12 years and distributions pay for my propane.
Pellet stoves don't work when the electricity is off and the overall cost is nuts. I just sold mine of craigs list and hooked the woodstove back up. The propane market will remain strong due to the oil prices and electric rates which will recover this year, but I am hoping for a break to buy this back. I sold at 45, never thought it would hit 50. The forecast may have been for a mild winter, but the opposite is what is happening. The media parrots the warmers, go figure. Degree-days is the only true measure for the purpose of evaluating the amount of fuel required. My long term is to sell above 45 and buy in the high 30s.
