    BBT 10 years up 37+%

Can you calculate that growth including the dividends. ie--Had I invested $100 in BBT stock on 12/2/95, how much would it be worth on 12/1/05 if I invested all of the dividends?
STI would be worth $217+ change according to their web-site.

    • Don't know the 10 year return, but from 12/1999 to 12/2004, $100 increased to $180.56 per the 2005 proxy statement.

      • The 12/1999 to 12/2004 figures are correct, however in the proxy charts showing earlier years they lost 30.5% of their value from 12/1998 to 12/1999.

In the earliest three years of the last 10 they were doing great for the shareholders, but the last 7 of the past ten years does not reflect very good returns for the long term investor considering the whole ten year time frame.

The years ending 12/1995, 12/1996 and 12/1997 were great, but consider that this stock ended at $40.31 12/1998 and where it is today.

Most of the return for long term shareholders has been only the dividend and it has not been at the current level during this time frame.
