In 2006 the eu decided to implement REACH which is a chemical regulation that required companies to label nano zinc oxide as such.
Nano zinc oxide was only approved in select countries as an approved uv blocker.
Eu cosmetic regulation 1223/2009 does 2 things.
1 nano zinc oxide will be approved eu wide as a UV filter.
2 only particles sub 100nm will be forced to label nano
So z-cote LSA WILL NOT HAVE TO BE LABELED NANO and can be used in formulations freely.
The eu cosmetics market is slightly larger than the US so hopefully within 3yrs we can double sales to basf.
BASF has just announced a new product to be used to build battery cases. Could this be Nanophase's entry into the energy market?
