    After the company reported higher than expected revenue and in-line EPS, and provided guidance of 20%-plus gross margins for 2008, Am Tech believes the company can achieve its gross margin goal, due to its high visibility into sales prices and its 100% visibility into wafer prices. The firm maintained their Buy rating on shares of JASO today.

    com: Update: JA Solar rises after better than expected Q4 revenue
    JA Solar (JASO) reported Q4 EPS of 9c, exactly in-line with analysts' consensus estimate. The company's Q4 revenue was $144M, versus the consensus of $117.78M. The company said it increased its annual production capacity to 175MW from 75MW in 2007. In 2008, JA Solar expects to record revenue of $990M to $1.1B, with gross margins of more than 20%. "In 2008 we plan to build on JA Solar's strong brand and technology platform through increased sales and marketing efforts, greater investment in R&D, and continued expansion of our production capacity," said JA Solar CEO Samuel Yang. Am Tech had a favorable outlook on the company following its results and guidance. Am Tech believes the company had a very strong quarter, and the firm thinks the company's revenue and gross margin guidance is also very impressive. Am Tech thinks the company has more visibility into its gross margins that other solar companies, and the firm maintained their Buy rating on the stock. JA Solar's shares had gained 3.16% to $15.04 in early afternoon trading.
