This just goes to show how little most of you know about the Findlay contract. We were LOCKED OUT. We wanted to keep working. If your going to shoot your mouth off get clue about whats going on first. Oh ya, I am doing fine and enjoying my body not hurting all the time.
Here is a good article about the whole thing, even though it is written by the union. They do make some good points however, but to say that upper management is way over paid and all that is a little misleading. Yes the Cooper upper management is over paid, but so is every other company's upper management and some companies are 10x worse. The difference is that Cooper doesn't make $2 billion in profit each year, in fact a lot of years they lose money. So unfortunately most of us are working for companies like this and are at their mercy, unless you are fortunate enough to own your own business. Here's the article, enjoy...
Short term it may affect quality but it has nothing to do with the union just new workers. Ultimately you get a better product out of a non union shop where expertise, motivation, hard work, and quality are rewarded accordingly and not communally compensated.
Was going to buy new cooper tires for my car, but I will not buy Cooper Tires until this company gives the workers a fair contract. After all this company is currently grossly overcompensating it's CEO while horribly underpaying its workers or committing economic Treason by shipping production to China!!!!!!!!!!!
had to lock them out for fear of product sabotage, theft, and vandalism. i'm sure they won't have any problem finding good hard working qualified replacements...after all they're not building cruise missiles.
