I bought some GNC, too, because I was impressed with Q4 earnings report and that GNC continued to experience good growth (7%) during the worst of the ecnomic recession.
Based on February 2011 (Q4) earnings report, GNC has catalysts that should make its stock price pop in May and rise nicely over the coming years: (1) the GNC-Coke product (i.e., coconut water) that'll be on the shelves starting in May; (2) mangement predicts that GNC will add 100 new stores per year for the foreseeable future; (3) management plans continued expansion and advertizing of its online store, which had 37% growth this past year; (4) continued expansion of stores and products in China and other emerging markets; (5) and new products under the GNC brand, GNC-Coke brand, and GNC-PetSmart, etc.
I am new to investing and my daughter works at GNC and came home yesterday and advised me to purchase some shares. What would be considered a good amount to purchase. I was thinking about 200-300 shares
