Because I did not know Mr. Duncan personally, I mention brief condolences to his family and then move to the EPD share price action.
Yesterday's share action was comforting for longs: --EPD dropped early on Mr. Duncan's death announcement but finished well off its low. --Last hour of trading EPD was up, by my calculations, more than 0.5%. This is good for an income security. --After hours, according to Yahoo Finance yesterday, EPD rose further. Because the after hours participants tend to be more sophisticated than average, this is especially heartening.
Today's price action so far is also heartening in that EPD has at least from time to time been above yesterday's close. This is not a sign of panic or even of sell in the $33s for sure.
Does anyone know what Wells Fargo's rating is on EPD and the date of that rating?
Disclosure: I have had a modest long position in EPD for years, and added to it at $33 yesterday.
