I heard somewhere that MLPs such as EPD are exempt from estate taxes. Not sure whether this applies to fed and state or just fed. Not sure whether this info is correct or bogus. Does anyone know if this is true or a scam? (If this info is valid, it's a game-changer for me.)
The feds total up everything you have on your death and if it is over the limit your estate pays on thr excess. MLPs are counted just like everything else. As an aside, do not know how many you want to give money to but a single person can give something in the $6.5M area tax free from the feds. Don't know about you but my wife and I even with a bunch of grandkids and 2 children will only give up to XX dollars. Beyond that let them earn it and support a charity. If you have over $13M with your wife and want to give it to the arbtrdr educational foundation and avoid taxes, just let me know.
