I know the CSC layers will badger Yahoo to remove this post but the fact is that CSC is about to lose some major contracts in the area of,
CyberCrime initiatives (DCITP)
Security Operations Centers (Arlington, Newark, Chantilly)
these are positions that cannot be filled by Indians and require US CItizens with clearances.
Get out of CSC while you can....
So Sherry, your post seem to indicate that CSC will lose the contract because those positions must be US citizens.
Are you saying there are no US citizens in Newark, Chantilly or Arlington?
What often happens is they reduce U.S. personnel through attrition and don't replace them. The remaining U.S. personnel have to take on more obviously. At some point though, they don't have the knowledge and skills to do everything that needs to be done, let alone hours in a day.
Oh. And my experience is that Yahoo deletes almost nothing.
Even when a female posted, daily that senior management was just masturbating (among other things). Company NOT CSC and shall remain unnamed (so don't ask).
Reporting her daily, had no affect.
Just one more reason why I take what is posted on these message boards with an extremely large grain of salt (unless buttressed with facts).
Well, what do you men by "major" contracts?
The IRS and DHS and USAF, as well a "black projects" (i.e., CIA, NSA, NRO) are all "major projects."
What is the annual dollar value of the contracts you cite?
If less than $40 annually, they are NOT major contracts. If the loss of the contracts affect the bottom line by less than $0.01 EPS, I am not worried.
The collapse of the Commercial division about two years ago along with the debacle at Managed Services recently, were the real calamities.
When you provide numbers, then I will take your posts more seriously, until then . . .
I was a successful IT lan manager at AON, and was outsourced in 2005 so that CSC could "save" the contract after over-charging Aon only $200 million the 1st year, so CSC fired 140 staffers and brought in kids and an India based help desk. You bet I am unhappy with CSC and Aon is equally brain dead too. They deserve each other. You think the qualify of support in Bangalore is so GREAT? Living in the cloud are you? Stay there. Oh, my Indian manager reminds me to ask you if you want an email survey?
CSC loves to employ Bangalore staff whenever possible. I was having a beer at the Hoboken bar yesterday and chatting with the bartender, a woman whose husband works for the same place I worked AT, Aon, and was also a survivor of 9-11-01. I commented on the sad state of IT support through CSC and briefly did an immitation of those famous India support calls the Aon staff has to suffer through complete with proper accent. She looked to sky and said PLEASE, HE DEALS WITH THAT EVERY DAY!!!!!
I think CSC already lost the Cyber contract too, and there is always National Health in Britain for a bonus.
CSC - Completely Screwed Clientele.
It's no joke. It's bad enough to get called in the middle of the night regarding a problem but to have to deal with someone with a heavy indian accent is intolerable. Moreover, they're clueless and have no common sense whatsoever. Sometimes, I think CSC just pull anyone from the street to fill the job position.
