Mr. Lawrie has made a few changes today across CSC. Most notably in NPS. Jim Schaffer will retire and Dave Zolet will take over. Also got a few outsiders such as Gary Budzinski heading up GIS and Sunita Holzer as CHRO and of course you might of heard we got a new CFO as well. We'll see how that trickles down in the next few months. Let the games begin!!!!
Maybe they need to clean out the Board of Directors? They went along with the old guard too long. Here is a quote from one of them. Do you want guy like this on the board of a technology company?
“Apple won’t succeed with the iPhone. They’ve launched an innovation that the existing players in the industry are heavily motivated to beat: It’s not [truly] disruptive. History speaks pretty loudly on that, that the probability of success is going to be limited.” – Clayton Christensen, author of “The Innovator’s Dilemma” and professor at the Harvard Business School
Buy the stock at 20, its gonna take years for them to get out of this mess
The change in NPS Leadership was not unexpected given that group's performance over the past few years.
Did Jim Schaffer 'voluntarily' retire or is that part of the announcement the typical 'saving face' at the executive levels of American corporations?
Why David Zolet? Does he have extensive experience building/rebuilding a Public Sector Consulting, Systems Integration and Outsourcing group? [Hard to believe given NPS' stellar performance in the past few years.] Is it because he and Lawrie crossed paths at IBM? FYI http://www.linkedin.com/pub/david-zolet/3/b/868 - odd that a public profile that he controls does not indicate his past two years of CSC employment.
No, this was in the making for some time now. Of course there must have been some closed door sessions but as any leader you want to put someone in key positions who you know and trust. As far as Mr. Zolet, I do not know him personally but what I have heard is he is sharp, straight shooter and decisive. In is short time at CSC I feel I know him better than Shaffer due to his communication style. He actually communicates with NPS unlike the others.
