If anyone doubts the flaw that INTU is covering up, you only need to see this video I posted on U-tube. Yes I work for liberty as a tax preparer. I used TT to do my relative returns since the franchize I work for only allows immediate family free returns. They have been aware of this flaw since February and won't change it. Here is the link.
Thats not the only flaw they are covering up. If you download your investment info from a financial institution if its a large volume of transactions when you reach the check errors section it will tell you that you may have duplicate entries. When you try to correct them the program freezes up and gives you a fatal error message 20900072586 at which point the program shuts itself down. The individual I spoke to said they have had numerous complaints about the very same problem but can't/won't fix it. I am going to recommend to my financial institution (Fidelity Investments) that they support another prep software co next year.
We are not aware of any issues with downloaded transactions from financial institutions. There are limits, however, to how many transactions you can download. For the TurboTax Online product, it is 500. For the CD version, it is 3000. If your system is freezing/hanging, then I suspect you may not have sufficient memory to handle the volume of transactions.
John... I have tried to post to the youtube site but it won't accept my comments. So here is my response.
A few questions to help troubleshoot your issue:
1. Are you sure you have not re-filed returns that were rejected by the IRS? 2. Have you moved previously e-filed returns to another folder on your computer? These count toward the 5 but won't show on the status screen if you moved these files. 3. Have you updated to the latest version of TurboTax?

Please note you don't have to change individual items, there is only one check whish asks if you want to ignore duplicate item check and it works now for me. Hope this works and saves time for others from calling turbotax support.
