If you can't get TurboTax to work, I'd guess that it has to do with a corrupted installation of Microsoft's .NET Framework. Although Microsoft confirms this is a bug, they are able to fix most instances of this. In rare cases, they can't find a fix. Without more information, this is the only thing I can think of that would explain why you can't run TurboTax.
Now I know who trains your customer service reps. Co line "if it doesn't work don't ask us to fix it its somebodies elses fault". Sorry but its YOUR COS FAULT I never had this problem before and I have used tt since 2004. But not next year!!!
"I don't know what your problem with Turbo Tax is, but it's running just fine for me, just as all previous versions have."
That's the only reason I made such an effort to make it work. I've used in prior years and have a carry over loss I'll have to figure out by hand now. Once I start with a new tool I'll obviously keep using it. So the sale isn't just lost for this year, it's subsequent years too. SHORT THIS POS!
