Does this look like something big is going to happen
No news. And the stock is hitting new highs. I would have kept all of my MMAB if I wasn't hit with a large tax bill on income that I never got from the company. congrats to all who have got this stock at 10 cents a share in 2010-2011 as the guys of the company has done an incredible job at turning it around. Although I feel that MMAB will not get bought out. I feel that it might reinvest itself as an investment company that invest in corporate debt as it exits the mini-bond market. And low interest rates are responsible for its great turnaround story.
I don't think this is correct/possible. If you owned it in 2012, you'll get a 2012 K-1. If you sold it before a certain event that triggered major income, you could avoid that income being reported on your K-1, but you'll still receive a K-1 (and any income allocated to you for the time you owned it) for 2012.
drcletus99, yeah but, how often do we have a sudden severe downturn like we had in 2007-2008? Nobody could refinance their debt. at that time and it happened so fast, nobody could have seen or prepared for it. USA almost went BK. Look at the bright side of all this. MMAB did not do a government bailout, did they, no. Many companies filed BK, this company did what it had to, to surveve. They sold assets.
