New Message Format Creates Obvious Reduced Activity on this board
In has been very interesting and obvious to see a huge reduction in activity on this board since Yahoo began testing the new format. Also interesting to go to other Energy/oil/gas related sites where you see many of the same participants that have simply quit posting on this board, and now actively use those related sites that Yahoo has chosen not to be used as testing sites. Guess the ERF posters are the unlucky posters. Certainly sends a message of what we think of the experimental Format.
Does everybody see the same font in the messages? When I open a message to read it, it is in Times Roman, whereas typing it appears to be Arial, which I think was the message font before. Reading the messages in Times Roman makes me feel like I'm reading the newspaper!
Obviously the hands of the ordinary boarders are more tied. New format more restrictve and hinders the free interchange of views. However, there is some merit in that in might block out some irresponsible userss abusive use or the so-called use by the menally challenged. But abuser occurences are after all, few and far between. On the whole I much prefere the status quo. I have reaped many benefitis from a number of time-and star-hnored contributors like liz Huang,
Mostly I don't like the slowdown in the response to selection of messages, and there is not an easy navigation from one topic to the next, as there was before.
I like the reduction of empy space in each message block, since I do less scrolling to read a list of messages in a topic.
I suspect you are "right on" about that point. No one likes change, but we have to take what we get and deal with it. Just an observation that certainly has nothing to do with anything good or bad about ERF.
