I'm no happy about the recent downtrend, but I'm not considering selling my units, either. Since I've owned the stock for the last 4 years, I can't recall a single insider sale. There have been repeated insider buys, going back to when the stock was in the teens through Jennifer Straumins $200k purchase in March. The insiders could've taken some profits when the stock was trading at $40, but none of them chose to do so. This can only mean that they still think the stock will go much higher. As long as the insiders aren't selling, neither will I.
As I said back in early June, it will be instructive to keep watching what the insiders do. I keep holding because the insiders are. There hasn't been an insider trade since Jennifer Straumins paid over $38 per unit in March. Who knows, the pps could drop below $30 after earnings. Will we see some strong insider buying?
Supposedly somebody was buying gasoline in the chicago market recently and CLMT's refinery in Minnesota is coming back from shutdown. I wonder if they are having problems like they did last quarter at Shreveport. Also it sounds like the new San Antonio refinery is just breaking even. It does look like the Royal Purple acquisition is performing very well. I really like this stock but I have no conviction. Fortunately lightened up quite a bit at higher levels. Can't decide on where to add. Probably gonna wait for the dividend announcement.
