Different investment philosophies: I actively manage my portfolio for very high returns and don't marry it. You let the market manage yours and take the consequences, like with wmt which has done nothing for 10+ years.
I would never risk principal and be satisfied with an roi (wmt) when I can do better in a savings account with no risk. Besides, I hate wmt as a company and a leech on taxpayers.
I suppose you don't like Buffett's style. I follow Buffett type investing. Dividends are great and they enable you to buy other stocks without having to sell your core holdings and pay tax. Notice Buffett doesn't sell Axp, KO, pg, wmt, very often. I don't think he has ever sold any KO. He has sold some PG. Anyway, I think his success speaks well for his method.
