Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Message Board

All you bashers enjoy Walmart being down now, because you won't get to enjoy that too long

One analyst has already upgraded it. WMT is dependable. Walmart IS the economy. When people have money, they will spend it at WMT. They like to shop at a place that doesn't gouge you on price. No one likes to feel cheated. Have you ever bought something one place and then gone to another store a few days later and saw the same item at a much lower price? I bought a fridge from a local company and about 3 days later I was at Lowes---the same model was $300 less. Needless -to-say, I will never ever set foot in the local store anymore.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Sorry for anyone not PROUD of WALMART, What would we do without all our stores, Thank's like family.

    • Wal-Mart WAS the economy. The numbers speak for them selves.

      Sentiment: Strong Sell

    • WMT right now should enjpy p/e 16+ and not 14.6 imo.

    • WMT is done. Close 25% of the stores by the end of this year and maybe, just maybe this stock will keep it's head above 60.

    • I don't care if things cost a little more at the local place. There is more to life than being a cheap, greedy money grubber. My prices are ALWAYS lower than Home Depot and Lowes. If a customer starts trying to work me over on price, I ask them (politely,) to go somewhere else.

Shep, you probably know nothing about refrigerators. You will simply buy the one with the lower price with no understanding whatsoever of what you are buying. By the time it breaks five years down the line, you forget where you bought it. and will do the same thing again.

I will, on the other hand, buy a refrigerator from the local appliance store. May or may not cost more. My guess is it's a much better product for slightly more money. And, when it breaks in ten years, they will probably fix it for a nominal cost.

It's too bad that you have become consumed with money. Money, money, money. If only you could read and appreciate how vapid and shallow your posts are.

      • Actually, I bought from a local store, but when the fridge broke down after 7 years or so, I called them on a Thur. ( and I had company coming for the weekend) and they said, "The earliest we can get to you in next Wed.,". So that put the icing on the cake. I called a friend who had been in the appliance business for years and retired and I told him my problem, gave him the model number, and he diagnosed it on the phone, brought the part and had it fixed in 15 min. after arriving at my house. That did it with me. Why buy locally if they can't repair their own products in a timely manner.

        Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Wrong. Wmt is a horribly run company. People are sick and tired of going to the store and not having enough checkers. They are sick and tired of them being out of items they went to the store for. They are sick and tired of shopping cart demolishion derby's with screaming kids and weirdo's at the freak show. They are sick and tired of horrible management that can't handle a store and have been promoted way over their heads for some brother in law deal. I can tell you why their same store sales are down and the economy is "soft". It's because people avoid walmart like the plague. Look at the stock price for the last 5 years and tell me something is not wrong. You can take a pile of competitors flyers and spend 15 extra minutes in the checkout line to get the low price guarantee and brave the evil glares from people behind you or go elsewhere. Me, I choose the easy way out. I go elsewhere and retain my serenity.

    • ["Needless -to-say, I will never ever set foot in the local store anymore."] ....

and you can be assured your local dealer will not be paying you a visit with his service person when your Lowes fridge stops working....

Stop giving local stores a bad rap...

You are what is wrong with America now....

You don't give a sh!! about supporting your neighbors....

      it's all about.............YOU...............YOU..............YOU..............YOU

and a damn retailer that has its Global Procurement Office in China with nearly 20,000 vendors there....

      but I forget...

you a damn millionaire because of Wal*Mart....

      18,000 shares of the sh!!....

dividends running out of your butt each and every quarter....

Praising the sh!! out of that star 23 and a half hours a day....

Telling everyone how much they can save by shopping there....

      Yeap!

      ["Walmart IS the economy."] ......

47 million Americans on food stamps....
      20 million unemployed...

and 38 damn years of trade deficits.....

      Yeap! leave it to Wal*Mart...

the Government has gone from a mere $533 billion of debt in 1975 to $17 trillion of debt today and you are right when you call it a damn Wal*Mart economy...

38 years of taking the wealth right out of the American consumers hands....

and giving it to foreigners in foreign lands...

Shep, why does Wal*Mart have four super cargo ships that pollute...

why do they have a port in Mexico....

and why do they put less than 5% foreign in all their stores in China....

Personally, this O'fart hopes you drown in the sh!!.

Have a wonderful weekend praising that STAR in Wal*Mart knowing damn well Sam didn't put it there.

This O'fart will be right here posting the damn truth.
