Jean, first let me say that I really appreciate your consistency in providing these reports. As retired pharma/biotech sales and national accounts manager, I'm just curious about "NPA" data. I Googled NPA and it was an independent prescription management company that merged with Express Scripts. Since Express Scripts/NPA compete with other prescription management companies, I'm not sure how they are positioned to get prescription data from a broad range of outlets or how they have the capability that IMS has developed over the last 35-40 years. IMS is a totally different kind of organization that provides information services, specifically prescription data for the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. So did Ian say that AVNR changed reporting companies - from IMS to NPA? If so, call me incredulous!:-)
Best to you and again thanks!
"The most accurate measure of national prescription activity for all products, IMS National Prescription Audit (NPA) has been enhanced with even greater levels of accuracy, speed, and consistency — helping you achieve Next-Generation performance."
It appears that NPA is actually IMS NPA, as described above.
