    Reply to Bellbell "hedged"

I will leave out two sentences about -ahoo boards and hope that this time more than a partial sentence of my original reply will post. This is what I tried to post earlier:

What proportion of your shares did you hedge?

I did a small amount of profit taking

    • Yes, MB "last" is screwed up. Add the less than sign terminates the post - has been that way for over a year.

I hedged my entire position - since they were 19.00 covered calls sold at .71 it is not a "mistake" unless price is over 19.71 on expiration day. ANd I gives me .71 worth of downside protection.

FYI: PAL reported -.03 just what I expected. Have yet to dig deeper than TPD for q2 was only 2900 and that Q3 production will be less than Q3 due to safety issues.

    • Don't tell me that we are back to dealing with the old censor-bots that don't allow a "less than" sign. I'll try this post one more time without the "less than" sign and see if I can get it to post.

      Third try:
What proportion of your shares did you hedge?

I did a small amount of profit taking "less than" 10%. SWC still remains my largest holding. I see the potential for upside surprises as significantly higher than downside risks. I'm not just talking about earnings. If SWC were to announce a dividend or share buy-back, as has been hinted at, that could be the catalyst needed for a short squeeze. Short interest was only down slightly in mid July and remains over 18% of outstandings. With Pd nearing $900, this level of shorting makes absolutely no sense to me.

Pd may or may not have a significant pullback. But SWC should still be doing nicely even if PD were $50+ less than today. Q1's average Pd price was more than $100 below current prices.

Message board topic "latest post" names and time still seem to be messed up. Sure would be nice if Yahoo ever got it's act together regarding message boards.
